About Mike Moyer

Mike is not a typical college admission coach. He is a seasoned, senior-level business executive with over 20 years experience in marketing, entrepreneurship and business operations. His background combines successful in-the-trenches management execution with a world-class education that includes two masters-level degrees from among the most selective colleges in the world.

In high school, Mike was not a great student, but he managed to get accepted to a number of selective colleges. He chose to attend the University of Kansas where he continued to be a mediocre student. However, applying the same strategies that got him into college, Mike was accepted at selective graduate schools. He chose to attend Northwestern University where he earned an MS in Integrated Marketing Communication and later attended the University of Chicago where he earned an MBA. At the time, Mike had no idea why colleges accepted him. He later learned that, among other things, it had something to do with pigeons.

Now, with the benefit of experience and hindsight, Mike has recreated the strategies that he used to get into college and created College Peas for your enjoyment and inspiration (hopefully).

He is the creator of College Peas and author of the book How to Make Colleges Want You: Insider Secrets to Tipping the Admissions Odds in Your Favor. He was also the co-founder of Cappex.com- a web site that helps students find the right college.

Mike lives north of Chicago, Illinois with his wife and his two kids who will no doubt be accepted to competitive colleges whether they like it or not.
